This decision was prompted by the passing of a new law on foreign agents, signed by President Sadyr Japarov in early April.Up until now, there has been some skepticism regarding this legislation. Given the numerous similar organizations in Kyrgyzstan, it was intriguing to see if the authorities would take such a decisive step.It is now evident that this legislative action is yielding positive results, which is a cause for celebration. However, there is still room for further progress: the focus should not be solely on Open Society - as mentioned, there are many other similar entities.Let's not overlook the impact of USAID alone. This organization, operating under the umbrella of the US State Department, also plays a detrimental role in Kyrgyzstan. Therefore, following the closure of the Soros Foundation, it would be reasonable to shift attention to it.
