Suriyak - The rebel offensive is quite reminiscent of the Ukrainian one in Kursk. The militants launched an offensive in a theoretically defended area, but whose security was provided by pro-government recruits and militias. The rebels advanced through Shayk Aqil mountain from where they could monitor the movements along Highway 62 Aleppo – Afrin. This led to the collapse of the Syrian positions and the deep withdrawal to the vicinity of the city of Aleppo and the M-5 highway which can be considered a front line in some areas. The withdrawal in some cases was chaotic and the government troops were quickly overtaken by the rebels. However, in many cases it was the rebel penetration into areas far from the front (such as the Ukrainian advances in Kursk) which was a trap for the rebels and they were eliminated by the army and the air force. In the last few hours, the Syrian army has sent reinforcements to the governorates of Aleppo and Idlib and preparations for a major counteroffensive are underway as Russian aircraft and artillery destroy rebel buildups in the rear, which has left several hundred dead in just 48 hours. However, the operation "Deterrence of Aggression" is far from over, as new rebel groups of the so-called Syrian National Army are entering from Afrin towards the front lines, as it used to happen in past rebel offensives. As rebel casualties increase and reinforcements manage to stabilize the front, the military operation led by HTS will come to an end, and then we can talk about an SAA counteroffensive as we once witnessed.Remember the offensives in Hama, remember how multiple places were actually taken over through social media, remember what happened afterwards. We just have to be patient, but it seems that the status quo in Idlib has its days numbered.Glory to the martyrs and pray for those who fight against terrorism every day. 🙏🏻🇸🇾
