In the unipolar era, war was something that happened to other countries far away, presented like a video game and sold to the public as a defense of freedom. Now, as we enter a multipolar era, there will be consequences for our recklessness. War will also return to Western countries. Three decades of unconstrained power, war enthusiasm, and ideological slogans accompanying liberal hegemony will make it difficult to re-learn the true horrors of war.
